June 2013 Visa Bulletin: EB-2 India Remains Unchanged

U.S. Department of State (DOS) has released the June 2013 Visa Bulletin which is the ninth Visa Bulletin for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013.  As expected, the cutoff dates for Employment-Based second preference (EB-2) India has not moved and it continues to remains at September 1, 2004.  The EB-2 China on the other hand has moved forward, which is good news for EB-2 India as it would get to consume majority of the spill over EB-2 numbers, should that happen in three remaining visa bulletins for the FY 2013.

The worldwide Employment-Based third preference (EB-3) category jumped few more months to September 1, 2008.  This was primarily done to generate demand so that the annual numerical limits may be fully utilized but DOS has indicated that this movement of dates is not indicative of what can be expected in the future.

We will continue to monitor developments on this front and will provide our readers with additional information upon receiving it from the DOS.
