May 2014 Visa Bulletin: EB-2 India Remains Unchanged (DOS Prediction)
U.S. Department of State (DOS) has released the May 2014 Visa Bulletin which is the eighth Visa Bulletin for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2014.
Under the Employment Based (EB) category, cutoff dates for EB-2 India remain at November 15, 2004 though cutoff dates for EB-3 India have moved forward by couple of weeks to October 1, 2003.
Under the family based category for spouses and minor children of lawful permanent residents (F-2A), the cutoff date remains at September 8, 2013 for all countries other than Mexico. Continued heavy demand in recent months for Mexico F-2A has resulted in retrogression of this category. It is highly likely that another retrogression of this cut-off date will be required to hold number use within the annual limit. Additionally, DOS clarified that the level of demand for worldwide F-2A category was extremely low from early 2013 through September 2013 hence the cut-off date for this category was advanced at a very rapid pace. Starting October 1st, 2013 (FY-2014), the level of demand for F-2A category picked up hence the cut-off date is being maintained at September 8, 2013. Due to continued heavy demand for this category, DOS anticipates a retrogression of the F-2A cut-off date within the next several months.
We will continue to monitor developments on this front and will provide our readers with additional information once we receive it from the DOS.
